2008 album of the year

despite what i said in my last post, the best release of 2008 has got to be see you in magic by the night marchers, hands down straight up rock and roll.
the range of the record is incredible it strikes every mood perfectly. it feels like John Reiss found the perfect balance of rftc and hot snakes and throws in some extra mojo to create the unique sound. thats all i gotta say.
just perfect.

runner up - Matador Singles, Jay Reatard.

music music music

these past few days i've been listening to a lot of the matador singles by jay reatard. jay reatard is the reason why rock is still my favorite music genre. just when i found myself growing tired of the same old cd's i get the matador singles and get my mind blown away. i haven't heard one bad reatard song yet, which is a good reason why they're one my favorite bands at the moment. dave and i had a good talk last about "best 2008 release" and we are both undecided.
my top 3 picks are:
when life gives you lemons - atomosphere
civil war - d4
the bronx 3 - the bronx
